The petition filed yesterday for a Wet/ Dry Election to be held in the Utica precinct has been verified and will be sent to the Judge Executive to set the election which will be included on the November 6th General Election ballot. All registered voters in the Utica precinct will be eligible to vote on the issue. Utica joins the Philpot East precinct in being the first round of Wet/ Dry Elections appearing on regular election ballot for Daviess County. Prior legislation changed the rules on Wet/ Dry Elections which allowed for these to take place on regular and primary election dates instead of being separate. This in turn saves the County money while increasing voter turnout in these types of elections. The individual responsible for the petition for Utica is Tejash Patel, and his contact number is 270-903-3390.
