Teens charged with armed robbery, burglary and trafficking

On Sept. 27, 2018, detectives from the Owensboro Police Department located and charged Jaylon Hayden, 19, of 3929 Carpenter Drive, and a 17-year-old male juvenile with two separate armed robberies, a burglary and additional charges related to multiple cases listed below.

On Sept. 21st, 2018, an armed robbery occurred in the 2100 block of Tamarack Road involving both suspects. In this case, Hayden was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree burglary, and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. The juvenile was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree burglary and possession of a handgun by a minor.

On Sept. 25th, 2018, an armed robbery occurred in the 4100 block of Fogle Drive involving both identified suspects as well as a third suspect. In this case, Hayden was charged with one count of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree burglary, and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor. The juvenile was charged with first-degree robbery and one count of first-degree burglary.

On Sept. 27th, 2018, a burglary occurred in the 3700 block of Buckland Square where the victim was asleep inside the residence. Both Hayden and the juvenile were charged with second-degree burglary for this case.

On Sept. 27th, 2018, both Hayden and the juvenile were located in the 4000 block of Carpenter Drive. During the course of the investigation, Hayden was charged with trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 oz) while armed, tampering with physical evidence, third-degree possession of controlled substance and second-degree unlawful transaction with a minor.
