UPDATE:

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the new 4-lane section of KY 81/West Parrish Avenue between US 60 and the KY 81/KY 56 Roundabout at Owensboro is nearing completion.

This new section of KY 81/West Parrish Avenue has been opened to 4-lane traffic.  However, there will continue to be construction activity and intermittent lane restrictions along this work zone from time to time.

Opening of this new section to 4-lane traffic helps to make the existing KY 81/KY 56 Roundabout more functional by doing away with a merge point for eastbound KY 56 traffic and northbound KY 81 traffic where they come out of the roundabout heading into Owensboro.

The new section also provides improved traffic flow and safety at the Owensboro Airport entrance.

Again, some construction activity will continue along this work zone in coming weeks.  Appropriate caution is required.

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling and paving along a section of KY 81/West Parrish Avenue in OWENSBORO starting Thursday, September 13, 2018.

This milling and paving project runs along KY 81/West Parrish Avenue from milepoint 13.32 just east of the Bosley Road intersection extending northward to the intersetion with KY 2831 at milepoint 14.493, a distance of 1.17 miles.

Milling operations are planned for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with paving expected to start on Monday, September 17.

Once paving starts it is expected to take about a week to complete, weather permitting.

The target completion date is October 1, 2018.

Motorists should use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
