OPD arrests man on separate charges, believed to have information on triple homicide

UPDATE: OPD arrests two males in triple homicide; names of victims released

At 12:34 a.m. Friday morning, the Owensboro Police Department arrested Cylar L. Shemwell for on a contempt of court charge. OPD believes Shemwell may have information about Thursday’s triple homicide.

According to the Daviess County Detention Center webpage, after being charged with contempt of court, Shemwell paid a full cash bond.

OPD still has identified or located the second man who they believe could have information about Thursday’s murders.

Anyone with any information about the incident is encouraged to call the Owensboro Police Department at 270-687-8888, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.
