OPD detectives investigating shooting at Deer Trail

UPDATE: According to an Owensboro Police Department news release at approximately 11:46 a.m. Tuesday, OPD responded to the 3100 block of Deer Trail on a report of a Shooting. DeAndre S. Mitchell, 23 years old of Owensboro, was located with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen area and was transported to the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

Detectives responded and are currently investigating. Anyone with any information about the incident is encouraged to call the Owensboro Police Department at 270-687-8888, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484.


UPDATE: According to the Owensboro Police Department, a call came in right after 12 noon of a shooting in the 3100 block of Deer Trail.

OPD Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess confirmed that there was one male victim who was shot in the abdomen but was alert and conscious en route to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, is believed to have left on foot.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.


DEVELOPING: The Owensboro Police Department has confirmed that a shooting took place in the 3100 block of Deer Trail but they cannot confirm how many victims there are at this time.
