According to a news release from Daviess County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, troopers from the Indiana State Police Jasper District executed an arrest warrant out of Daviess County, on Alex Payne, age 30, of Tell City, Indiana, for charges stemming from a child pornography investigation in Daviess County.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division of the DCSO obtained the warrant through the Commonwealth’s Attorney Office in Owensboro, charging Payne with eight counts of use of minor in a sexual performance, which are all Class B felonies.
Payne will be extradited to Daviess County within the next week following a hearing in Perry County, Indiana, where he was lodged by ISP following his arrest in Tell City. Once in Daviess County he will be formally arraigned on the charges.
This arrest follows a several month’s long investigation by the DCSO and the investigation is continuing at this time with more charges possible. The DCSO CID was assisted by detectives from the Indiana State Police Jasper District throughout this investigation.
