UPDATE – 4:10 p.m.
As Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances around the shooting, the Criminal Investigations Division has determined that this is an isolated domestic incident. Detectives will continue their investigation into the assault.
At this time Edward Cortez Sharp, 38 years old, of Evansville, Ind. has been lodged at Daviess County Detention Center for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of a defaced firearm related to this case.
DEVELOPING – 8:44 a.m. According to a news release sent by Owensboro Police Department, at approximately 7:48 a.m. OPD responded to the 200 block of Byron Court on a report of a male who had suffered a single gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
