Deputies with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 500 block of Ewing Road after receiving a report of a collapsed structure in the area. Upon arrival, deputies discovered an O.Z. Tyler rickhouse had partially collapsed leaving bourbon barrels and building materials close to the roadway.
According to DCSO, Ewing Road is closed from West 2nd Street to Yellowstone Drive for an undetermined period of time due to debris in the roadway and an unstable section of the building that is still standing.
Daviess County Fire Department, Daviess County Emergency Management Agency and Environmental Protection Agency also responded to the scene.
The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
