Severe thunderstorm keeps crews busy throughout Daviess County

A severe thunderstorm watch was issued by the National Weather Service out of Paducah at 8:19 p.m. In Kentucky, the watch included Daviess, Henderson and Union counties.

Since the watch was issued, Daviess County dispatch has received multiple reports of trees and powerlines down, as well as several small fires.

Owensboro Municipal Utilities outage map currently shows over 2,400 Daviess County residents without power, while the Kenergy outage map shows over 1,100 residents without power.

Several area fire departments, first responders and utility crews are working to clear and extinguish the affected areas and restore power.
