Sheriff’s office identifies three teenagers in Whitesville shooting

UPDATE — 3:05 p.m.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of the teenagers involved in the Whitesville shooting.

The two victims were Jasper Brown, 18, and Amarius Winstead, 16, both from Owensboro.
Tyler Glover, 19, from Owensboro, is currently being treated for a gunshot wound at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

The sheriff’s office is still seeking information about the shooting. People who were at the party or with information about the incident are encouraged to call DCSD at 270-685-8444, or give anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers, 270-687-8484.

UPDATE — 7:48 a.m.

A 16-year-old male and an 18-year-old male were killed and a 19-year-old male reportedly suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

The 911 call came in at 12:30 a.m. indicating a person had been shot at a residence in the 8200 block of Crisp Road.

The scene investigation indicated both victims had been in attendance at a party, where approximately 100 people had gathered. While interviewing these individuals, it was learned that the victim with multiple gunshot wounds was shot at the same location on Crisp Road.

Shortly prior to the 911 call, an unknown lone assailant shot both victims.

Most of the party attendees had fled the area prior to the officer’s arrival.

The deceased victims will later be identified by the Daviess County Coroner’s Office, pending notification of next of kin.


DEVELOPING — 5:14 a.m.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an overnight shooting that killed two people and wounded a third in Whitesville.

One of the dead is a juvenile.

As of 6 a.m., no one had been arrested in connection with the incident. 

According to Major Barry Smith, with the DCSD, the shooting occurred at a party on Crisp Road. 

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 270-685-8444.
