Owensboro man arrested for electronic crime involving a minor

Kentucky State Police troopers arrested Daniel K. Pointer, 28, of Owensboro on charges related to prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure a minor.

Pointer was arrested as the result of an investigation after discovering he was having a sexual conversation with a female juvenile via social media.

The investigation resulted in a search warrant at a residence in Owensboro on July 27, 2019. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and will be taken to KSP’s Forensic Laboratory for further examination.

Pointer has been charged with one count of prohibited use of an electronic communication system to procure minor. He is currently lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.

The investigation is still ongoing.
