Despite a high chance of rain during the morning and afternoon, City officials have confirmed Halloween events and trick-or-treating will be on Thursday as originally planned.
Thursday’s weather forecast reveals a 72 percent chance of rain that’s expected to happen during the morning, but that percentage decreases to 53 percent by the afternoon. The high temperature for the day is only expected to reach 50 degrees.
By evening, forecasters expect temperatures to decrease to 34 degrees with wind gusts at 26 miles per hour.
While the city does not set trick-or-treating hours, if storms are forecasted the city will urge communities to reschedule Halloween and trick-or-treating festivities for a different night. Executive assistant to the mayor, Adrienne Carrico said a press release will be sent to all news agencies and made public beforehand.
Suggested hours for trick-or-treating are 4-8 p.m. on Thursday.
