Robert A. Everly was arrested Monday night after the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says he stole a truck and trailer with two all-terrain vehicles from Wright Implement and led deputies on a high-speed chase through Daviess County.

On Monday night, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Wright Implement on Carter Road after receiving a report that a company vehicle with a trailer with two new John Deere Gators was being stolen from the business.

Deputies in route to the scene observed the Wright Implement truck pulling two Gators eastbound at the Highway 603 exit of US-60 at a high rate of speed. This deputy turned around in the median and caught up with the suspected stolen vehicle just before the Highway 144 exit.

Everly turned into a driveway at 5250 Highway 144. Deputies followed the suspect as he drove through the backyard of this residence, at which time he drove through a wooden fence into a soybean field before getting the suspected stolen vehicle stuck. At that time the suspect jumped out on foot and ran. After a short search DCSO located the suspect hiding under the suspected stolen vehicle and he was taken into custody without incident.

Upon searching the vehicle deputy located a bag with the tools the suspect allegedly used to cut the lock at Wright Implement. Also in the bag deputy located a clown mask the suspect may have used to cover his face. The truck along with the all-terrain vehicles were returned to Wright Implement.

Every, 41, of Louisville, was charged with fleeing or evading police, theft, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, fleeing or evading police 2nd (on foot), speeding 25 over and first-degree wanton endangerment.
