Man arrested after late-night police chase

A Florida man was arrested in Owensboro early Friday morning after leading the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police on a pursuit throughout the city and county.

Seth Barnhart, 40, of Deltona, Fla., was charged Friday with first-degree fleeing/evading police in a motor vehicle, driving under the influence, reckless driving, first-degree wanton endangerment, speeding 20 MPH over the speed limit, disregarding a stop sign, disregarding a traffic control device and failure to use or improper use of a turning signal.

According to KSP Sergeant Jackie Carver, the pursuit started around Parrish Avenue and ended near Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Barnhart’s vehicle was stopped by KSP, and the suspect was apprehended and taken to the Daviess County Detention Center. Barnhart was booked into the jail at 2:03 a.m.
