Allegations of sexual misconduct against Fr. Ed Bradley, of Owensboro, were not supported by evidence, the Owensboro Police Department stated Friday, and the investigation is officially closed.

The Daviess County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said in a press release the allegations were not supported by evidence, and even if they had been supported, the one-year statute of limitations had already passed, since these allegations stemmed from the 1980s.

“The Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney Daviess County has reviewed the investigation by the Owensboro Police Department regarding allegations of sexual misconduct involving Father Ed Bradley and a former student during the early 1980s,” said Daviess Commonwealth’s Attorney Bruce Kuegel in the release. “The conduct alleged improper contact between the student and Father Bradley while he was a teacher at Owensboro Catholic High School in the early 1980s.”

OPD conducted interviews with the individuals involved in the allegations and determined that the claims of criminal contact were not supported by evidence.
