UPDATE – Detectives from the Owensboro Police Department have charged a juvenile with first-degree assault for this shooting.

The Owensboro Police Department is continuing to investigate a shooting incident that occurred on Friday at English Park. OPD confirmed on Oct. 19 a male juvenile was shot, and they are currently looking for a juvenile person of interest in this investigation.
Due to the age of the person of interest, no additional information can be released at this time.
The victim who was shot Friday is believed to have suffered no life-threatening injuries.
OPD Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess said an arrest has not yet been made, but that detectives are continuing to interview witnesses and gather information. Boggess said there were several witnesses present at Friday’s shooting.
At around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, OPD responded to Woodford Avenue on a report of a shooting. The victim, a male juvenile, was located and transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital via ambulance.
