When Owensboro resident Blake Smith opens the 2019 Induction Ceremonies of the Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame Saturday afternoon in Central City for his second time as lead emcee of the festivities, he will be doing it from a different perspective as he was added to the Board of Directors for the KMHoF.

In becoming the youngest member to the board, Smith’s recent development within the Motorsports community made him a unanimous choice to meet the future needs of the board noted the board’s historian Richard Cunningham.

The vice president of the recent Owensboro/Daviess County Motorsports Festival, Smith’s lifelong love of Motorsports has led him to numerous jobs in announcing at area events and development of new era communications by establishing his own nationwide podcast after a stint in local radio broadcasting.

That experience led to Smith’s addition to the board and a commitment in outlook by the KMHoF board toward long term continued ways of meeting the goals of the Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame in recognizing the history of racing in Kentucky and public awareness of it’s contribution to Kentucky’s history.

The induction ceremonies begin at 2 pm at the Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame Museum in downtown Central City Saturday following an open house and autograph session beginning at 10 a.m. with the public invited for free for tours and the induction ceremonies.
