An Owensboro man is in jail after the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office says he struck two people with his vehicle. Authorities say 40-year-old Ryan B. Baker struck the victims while fleeing after an attempted theft.

DCSO along with the Daviess County Fire Department responded to a possible accident with injuries involving two subjects, a 26-year-old female and 41-year-old male, who were struck by a vehicle which had fled the scene.

A picture of Baker was obtained and placed on the DCSO Facebook page and tips came in regarding the suspect’s identity. It was determined that the suspect was Baker. He was later located at his residence on Southtown Boulevard by DCSO and Kentucky State Police and was taken into custody without incident. Baker was charged with two counts of second degree assault.
