OFD responds to fire at Old Hickory pit house

UPDATE: Frost, Washington and Booth Avenues are all back open at this time.

A few people were inside the pit house when the fire started, but no one was injured.

Authorities said extensive repairs will need to be done to the pit house before the restaurant can use it again.

The Owensboro Fire Department is currently on the scene of a fire at the Old Hickory Bar-B-Q pit house. The restaurant is not affected and it is still open for business while crews work to put out the fire.

Booth and Washington avenues are blocked off by Owensboro Police Department and motorists are being rerouted. Owensboro Municipal Utilities were also on site.
