The Owensboro Grain Day Committee is expecting a large turnout at Wednesday’s 46th Ag Expo at the Owensboro Convention Center.

The Ag Expo is an all-day event that highlights farming-related news. It includes educational programs with talks from numerous educators from the University of Kentucky, specialists and other professionals.

Free registration and the trade show starts at 7:30 a.m. The first speaker session begins at 8:30 a.m.

Jessie Horn, who has been on the planning committee for about six years, said it’s a unique event open to anyone interested in agriculture.

“You don’t have to be a farmer to get something out of this event,” he said. “If you have any interest in agriculture at all, we’d love to have you.”

Horn said the AG Expo is a combination of trade show, a meet and greet and a networking opportunity with an emphasis on educating local farmers.

He said attendees come together to discuss the most prevalent issues affecting the farming and agricultural world.

“In terms of having a trade show and having this really unique educational opportunity, there’s nothing else like this,” Horn said. “I’m very passionate about this event, and I want to see it keep going.”
