Kentucky Wesleyan College will officially introduce Thomas Mitzel as the college’s 35th president on Jan. 8.
Kentucky Wesleyan Vice President of Advancement Eddie Kenny released a statement regarding Mitzel’s welcoming ceremony, which will take place at 11 a.m. in Rogers Hall in the Winchester Campus Community Center. A press conference will be held during that time.
Witzel will speak at the event, along with the Chair of the Kentucky Wesleyan College Board of Trustees Phillip Shepherd and President of KWC’s Student Government Association Kylie Foster.
Mitzel’s introduction to the media and community will come two days after he officially takes the new position on Jan. 6.
Mitzel was formerly the Dickinson State University president in North Dakota. Mitzel will replace Bart Darrell, who announced his retirement in June and served as Kentucky Wesleyan’s 34th president.
