Wendell Foster, a local agency serving people with disabilities, is seeking volunteers for its second half marathon on March 14. The race draws more than 1,000 athletes with their family and friends from all around the nation and two countries. The course will travel 13.1 miles through Owensboro’s streets, neighborhoods, and on the Green Belt.

Sarah Poole, Wendell Foster’s Half Marathon Volunteer Director, said “An event of this magnitude takes a lot of coordinating and many volunteers to make it a success. We are looking for individuals, clubs, groups, businesses and schools to volunteer in many different areas including water stations and course support.”

Those interested in volunteering can go to wendellfoster.org/halfmarathon-volunteer and select “Become a Volunteer! Sign Up Today.”

All volunteers will receive a complimentary T-shirt if registration is completed by Feb. 13.

Contact Sarah Poole at 270-683-4517 or [email protected] for more information.
