Owensboro man charged with attempted murder after car chase

An Owensboro man was charged with attempted murder Sunday after almost hitting emergency personnel with his car.

Timothy Webster, 26, of Owensboro was arrested on multiple charges by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and the Owensboro Police Department including attempted murder of a police officer, wanton endangerment of a police officer, fleeing and evading police, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving on a suspended license, trafficking marijuana and other charges.

Owensboro Police, Owensboro Fire, and AMR went to a wreck in the 2700 block of Veach road around 10:45 pm. Sunday.

The vehicle involved in the wreck fled the scene and almost struck several emergency personnel. OPD initiated a pursuit but stopped when the driver entered the county.

DCSO deputies located the suspect in the vehicle in the 8400 block of KY 56 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Webster then fled and wrecked into a ditch at KY 56 and KY 500. The driver then fled on foot and was later arrested after a pursuit.

Officers found a loaded AR-15 rifle, four pounds of marijuana and handgun ammunition in his car.
