In an attempt to prevent community spread of the coronavirus, Owensboro Health has chosen to close its entire Healthpark, aside from clinical services, starting Tuesday.

This closure will go on until further notice. Clinical services such as the lab, physical therapy, counseling, nutrition and diabetes education are still seeing patients at the site.

Services remaining open include outpatient therapies, EAP & counseling services, outpatient nutrition and outpatient diabetes education.

Officials with Owensboro Health called this a preemptive measure that’s being taken for the sake of the community’s health.

“It’s a very busy place and there’s a lot of people from the community who use the Healthpark,” said Chief Medical Officer Francis DuFrayne.

Owensboro Health previously released a list of activities and events that would be canceled for two weeks while keeping the doors to the Healthpark open, but those doors will now be closed until further notice, DuFrayne said.
