4 news cases, 8 more recoveries from COVID-19 in area

Only four new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the area Thursday, while eight more people have recovered from the virus. Of the 119 cases reported in the seven-county district so far, there have now been 46 recoveries.

The Green River District Health Department announced one new case in Daviess County along with two in Henderson County and one in Webster County.

Currently 10 people in the Green River District are hospitalized.

The county totals are:

  • Daviess County – 72 cases, 35 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 11 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Hancock County – 2 cases, 1 recovered
  • Henderson County – 23 cases, 6 recovered, 2 hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized,
  • McLean County – 5 cases, 2 recovered, 1 hospitalization, 2 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Ohio County – 7 cases, 3 hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized,
  • Union County – 3 cases, 2 recovered
  • Webster County – 7 cases, 2 ever hospitalized

Patients range in age from 18-85, with an average age of 50. To date, 59.2% of patients have been female and 40.8% have been male. Cases by age range are:

  • 1-19 — 2 cases
  • 20-29 — 14 cases
  • 30-39 — 15 cases
  • 40-49 — 26 cases
  • 50-59 — 24 cases
  • 60-69 — 24 cases
  • 70-79 — 10 cases
  • 80+ — 4 cases

Cases are expected to continue to rise as testing capacity increases in the area and across the state.
