The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Daviess County has topped 100 after eight new ones were announced Saturday. New cases were also reported in Henderson County (3) and Ohio County (2).
Of the 180 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 88 (49%) have now recovered and 33 (18%) have required hospitalization. There are nine patients currently hospitalized, and there have been four deaths — three in Daviess County and one in McLean County.
The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 106 cases, 56 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 16 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths
- Hancock County – 6 cases, 2 recovered
- Henderson County – 33 cases, 14 recovered, 2 hospitalizations, 7 ever hospitalized
- McLean County – 6 cases, 2 recovered, 1 hospitalization, 2 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 13 cases, 6 recovered, 2 hospitalizations, 5 ever hospitalized
- Union County – 6 cases, 3 recovered
- Webster County – 10 cases, 5 recovered, 1 hospitalization, 3 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 16-93, with an average age of 48. To date, 54.4% of patients have been female and 45.6% have been male. Cases by age range are:
- 1-19 — 5 cases
- 20-29 — 21 cases
- 30-39 — 33 cases
- 40-49 — 42 cases
- 50-59 — 29 cases
- 60-69 — 29 cases
- 70-79 — 12 cases
- 80+ — 9 cases
Cases are expected to continue to rise as testing capacity increases in the area and across the state.
