After Burns Middle School principal Dane Ferguson was diagnosed with COVID-19, students and others in the community came together to support him with a car parade Sunday.

BMS 6th-grader Nolan Johnson came up with the idea, and more than 100 vehicles showed up to be a part of the caravan — and everyone stayed in their cars to ensure social distancing measures were followed. The procession went from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church to Ferguson’s house in Woodland Ridge.

People made get well posters and decorated their cars to provide encouragement for Ferguson as he battles the virus.
