Stuck at home while schools are closed, children are finding creative ways to keep themselves entertained. On Friday, one local family shared a video of themselves rapping about being at home for a school project.

Denim Tutt, a 2nd-grader at Cravens Elementary School, made a video with the help of his family.

“The kids had to post a rap about what they’re doing during quarantine or with their family,” said Denim’s mother Quincy Harris. “My son is a little shy, so at first he didn’t really want to do it. We were encouraging him to do it, and that’s when we decided to involve my sister’s kids, who I’m watching while she works.”

Quincy filmed the video, which features her husband Jansen Harris, nephews Caiden and Kingston Tutt and niece Dylan Tutt alongside her son.

“They came up with the rap in less than an hour, but I wanted them to kind of do it perfect, so it took maybe two hours total to rehearse and get it down,” Quincy said. “With all those kids, we’ve got to keep the entertainment going.”

She said they’ve been enjoying the family time at home:

“This quarantine has been a blessing to our family spending quality time together more than we usually get to.”
