Schools in Kentucky have been recommended to remain closed to in-person classes for the remainder of the academic year, according to multiple reports. Neither Owensboro or Daviess County Public Schools could confirm the announcement, though both said they could have more information at 4 p.m after Gov. Andy Beshear’s daily address to the public.
A tweet from the Kentucky Department of Education reads: “Following a conversation with @kycommissioner and @GovAndyBeshear, it’s been recommended Kentucky schools do not return to in-person classes for the rest of 2019-20 year. Our schools will continue @MyNTIky in order to reach 1,062 instructional hours. More info soon.”
We will update this story as more information becomes available.
