The third Henderson County death related to COVID-19 was confirmed Monday morning, as were six new cases and 18 more recoveries for the Green River District. Daviess and Ohio counties each reported three new cases and eight additional recoveries.
Of the 521 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 314 (60%) have now recovered and 62 (12%) have required hospitalization. There are 25 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been eight deaths — four in Daviess County, three in Henderson County, and one in McLean County.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 269 cases, 170 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 24 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- Hancock County – 6 cases, 5 recovered
- Henderson County – 82 cases, 51 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 19 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths
- McLean County – 19 cases, 13 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 2 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 105 cases, 47 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 10 ever hospitalized
- Union County – 9 cases, 8 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 1 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 31 cases, 20 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 6 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 7 months-93 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 55% of patients have been male and 45% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):
- <1 — 2 cases
- 1-11 — 6 cases
- 12-19 — 22 cases
- 20-29 — 88 cases
- 30-39 — 115 cases
- 40-49 — 112 cases
- 50-59 — 81 cases
- 60-69 — 55 cases
- 70-79 — 21 cases
- 80+ — 18 cases
Cases are expected to continue to rise as testing capacity increases in the area and across the state. The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
