Daviess County Fiscal Court is distributing 3-ply surgical masks to businesses with 50 or less employees that will be able to open May 11 in accordance with Gov. Andy Beshear’s guidelines to reopen parts of the economy.
Business able to open May 11 include manufacturing, construction, vehicle and vessel dealerships, professional services (at 50% of pre-outbreak capacity), horse racing (without spectators), and pet grooming and boarding.
Additionally, businesses with 50 or less employees that are currently open but did not receive masks in prior distributions by Fiscal Court will be eligible for the program.
Wednesday at 8 a.m., qualifying businesses needing masks can schedule a convenient pickup time by calling 270-685-8456 (choose either Road Department, Engineering or Parks Department options).
Upon pickup, for verification they will be asked to provide a current copy of their Owensboro/Daviess County Occupational Business License. Units will be distributed at no charge.
The pickup location will be the Daviess County Operations Center, 2620 Highway 81, Owensboro, KY 42301.
As the number of masks is limited, distribution arrangements will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Any masks that are failed to be picked up will go back into inventory and a new scheduled time will need to be made by the respective business.
