A Utica man is facing multiple drug-related charges after deputies with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office seized items indicative of a drug trafficking operation on Tuesday.

Christopher Leach, 27, has been charged with trafficking in marijuana (8 oz to < 5 lbs) — first offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a DCSO report, deputies responded to a drug complaint in the 11000 thousand block of Jackson Road North. Deputies made contact with occupants of the home and a search was conducted.

Several items including marijuana, individually packaged THC candy, a large amount of cash (over $7,000.00), and other items indicative of a drug trafficking operation were seized.

Leach was cited into court Tuesday according to officials with DCSO. Due to it being a non-violent charge and Leach’s cooperation, officials said it was appropriate per current jail and court guidelines regarding COVID19.
