The “peace and reconciliation rally” at the Smothers Park pavilion in downtown Owensboro has been postponed until Friday at 6 p.m. due to weather conditions. It was originally scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, but organizers moved it back one day for safety precautions.
The event is being put on by the NAACP, Owensboro Black Expo, Northwest Neighborhood Alliance, Dugan Best Neighborhood Alliance — alongside the Greater Owensboro community — are standing up for racial justice, peace and reconciliation.
The NAACP asks that those in attendance adhere to the local social distancing guidelines and recommend wearing a mask.
