The Owensboro Police Department is investigating a shooting homicide that occurred late Sunday night.
According to a report, OPD responded to the 000-100 block of Hanning Lane approximately 11:11 p.m. for a reported shooting. Officers located the victim, a 49-year-old male, inside the residence with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The victim was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, where he later died from his injuries according to the report.
