Pigtails & Cowlicks is hosting a two-day sale that provides an opportunity for families to buy or sell high-quality children’s items at bargain prices. Shoppers can save up to 90 percent off retail prices for name-brand and boutique items.
The spring sale was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions and is now taking place on June 19-20 at the Owensboro Convention Center, 501 W. Second St.
“We are thankful to be open for local families to shop for their kids’ summer needs,” said Elaine Martin, owner and founder of Pigtails & Cowlicks. “Kids will be excited to have new toys and games while parents appreciate the low prices on high-quality clothes and other items.”
Martin said the sale will comply with state health guidelines. The event plan has been approved by the Owensboro Convention Center and Green River District Health Department.
“Hand sanitizer will be available and all team members will wear face coverings,” she said. “Racks and tables will be placed 10 feet apart across the 32,000 square feet of floor space, allowing physical distancing while shopping.”
Because of building capacity, children younger than 16 will not be admitted. Babies carried in body wraps will be allowed.
Special hours have been designated for shoppers who prefer a smaller crowd. Entry will be limited to 150 shoppers from 1:30-3 p.m. and from 3-4 p.m. June 19.

Hours for the general public are 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Limited capacity appointments are available Saturday. The Saturday event includes many items at half price.
More than 425 families have registered to sell a variety of children’s items, including clothing and shoes for sizes newborn to size 20. Toys, bicycles, furniture, décor, books and all kinds of baby gear, including strollers, high chairs, car seats, cribs and much more will be displayed in organized departments filling 32,000 square feet of sale space.
Cash and credit cards will be accepted, checks will not.
