Four more candidates filed to run for Owensboro City Commission on Tuesday, which was the deadline for applications for the 2020 race. The 16 total candidates in a record high.
Candidates who filed Tuesday were Deirdre Carbon, Mark Castlen, Andy Gamblin and Bill Moss.
The 12 who previously filed were incumbents Larry Maglinger and Jeff Sanford, as well as Bob Glenn, Deanna Endicott-Smith, Mike Walker, Walter Lee, Deborah Fillman, Dale Taylor, Gordon Wilcher, Joseph Martin, Jay Velotta and Jared Revlett.
Richard House, chief deputy of Daviess County Clerk’s Office, said that it was safely the highest number of candidates he’d seen since the City of Owensboro decided to forgo Primary Elections for local positions in 2016.
This year’s General Election will be Nov. 3.
