A total of 21 more cases of COVID-19 and 45 recoveries from the virus were confirmed Tuesday for the Green River District.
New cases were in Daviess (9), Henderson (9), Union (1) and Webster (2) counties. Recoveries were in Daviess (18), Hancock (2), Henderson (6), McLean (1), Ohio (11), Union (2) and Webster (5) counties.
Of the 1,307 total cases reported by Green River District Health Department in the seven-county district, 1,051 (80%) have now recovered and 121 (9%) have required hospitalization. There are 22 patients currently hospitalized, and there have been 13 deaths — seven in Daviess County, four in Henderson County, one in McLean County and one in Ohio County.
The county totals are:
- Daviess County – 578 cases, 481 recovered, 11 current hospitalizations, 52 ever hospitalized, 7 deaths
- Hancock County – 33 cases, 24 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 3 ever hospitalized
- Henderson County – 246 cases, 201 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 32 ever hospitalized, 4 deaths
- McLean County – 37 cases, 29 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 4 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Ohio County – 309 cases, 233 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 18 ever hospitalized, 1 death
- Union County – 37 cases, 29 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 2 ever hospitalized
- Webster County – 67 cases, 54 recovered, 2 current hospitalization, 10 ever hospitalized
Patients range in age from 7 months-95 years old, with an average age of 43. To date, 49.7% of patients have been male and 50.3% have been female. Cases by age range are (not all demographic information is available yet because of late and incomplete reporting from a testing site):
- <1 — 3 cases
- 1-11 — 27 cases
- 12-19 — 84 cases
- 20-29 — 244 cases
- 30-39 — 264 cases
- 40-49 — 244 cases
- 50-59 — 178 cases
- 60-69 — 137 cases
- 70-79 — 74 cases
- 80+ — 48 cases
The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
