The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is requesting help identifying possible suspects in a burglary that occurred April 30, when allegedly one man claimed to be a roofer and waited outside with the victim while a second man robbed the home.

According to reports, unidentified suspects burglarized a home in the 4300 block of KY 142 in Philpot.

According to the victim, one of the suspects knocked on her door claiming that her roof needed repairs, and while they were outside a second suspect entered the home and stole several thousand dollars as well as coins and jewelry. The money that was taken is mostly older $100 bills from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.

According to reports, detectives believe it is possible that in the past several weeks someone may have noticed several of these bills either in possession of a person that typically doesn’t have large amounts of money, or being spent at a store/deposited in a bank and noticed that the bills didn’t resemble the $100 dollar bills they typically see.

The suspect is described as a white male of average height and build with rotten and missing teeth and he claimed to be a roofer, according to the report.

Citizens may report information anonymously by calling 270-240-2942 to speak with Detective Brad Youngman or by calling Crimestoppers at 270-687-8484. Crimestoppers may pay up to $1,000.00 for information leading to the prosecution of suspects in this case.
