An Owensboro man has been arrested after a residential burglary involving a firearm, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

Robert Baucom, 47, was charged with two counts of first-degree burglary as well as possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

According to a report, OPD responded to the 400 block of West Legion Boulevard on a residential burglary at approximately 1:59 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim advised a male had forced his way into her home and pointed a handgun at her before she ran out the door, according to OPD. The victim reportedly flagged down two vehicles advising them of what had just occurred.

There were a total of six juveniles in the two vehicles. After the victim pointed out the suspect to the juveniles, they kept track of suspect’s location until officers were able to arrive and take him into custody, according to the report.
