OPD: Woman charged with arson after setting clothes on fire at Walmart

An Owensboro woman has been charged with first-degree arson after allegedly setting clothes on fire Sunday at the Walmart on Frederica Street, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

Heather Brown, 34, was located and charged Monday according to a release from OPD.

According to the report, OPD responded to an incident at approximately 7:40 p.m. Sunday regarding a fire inside the store.

The store was occupied at the time, although no injuries were reported. The fire was contained to items of clothing and did not cause damage to the building, according to OPD.
