An Owensboro man, 20-year-old Parker Peters, has been charged with three counts of the Class B felony use of a minor in a sexual performance, according to a release from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
Detective Brad Youngman stated that the charges are related to an investigation wherein DCSO previously charged Peters with 10 counts of the Class D felony of possessing/viewing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor in August of 2019.
According to Kentucky law, “a person is guilty of the use of a minor in a sexual performance if he employs, consents to, authorizes or induces a minor to engage in a sexual performance.”
Use of a minor in a sexual performance is Class B felony if the minor so used is less than 16 years old at the time the minor engages in the prohibited activity, according to Kentucky law.
Peters was indicted in the August 2020 session of the Daviess County Grand Jury, according to DCSO. Peters surrendered through his attorney to detectives at the Daviess County Courthouse and was taken to the Daviess County Detention Center.
In August 2019, the DCSO Criminal Investigations Division arrested Peters and charged him with 10 counts of possessing/viewing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor. The images that led to the charges were found on Peters’ cellphone as part of an ongoing investigation, which led to the additional charges.
