COVID-19 update: 5 deaths, 47 cases, 88 recoveries reported for district

A total of 47 more cases of COVID-19 and 88 recoveries were confirmed Wednesday for the Green River District. Coronavirus-related deaths were reported for Daviess (1) and Henderson (4) counties.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (15), Hancock (5), Henderson (9), McLean (10), Ohio (3), Union (1), Webster (4)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (24), Hancock (3), Henderson (24), McLean (5), Ohio (11), Union (16), Webster (5)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 4,641
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 3,848 (83%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 36
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 342 (7%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 80

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 1,800 cases, 1,604 recovered, 12 current hospitalizations, 128 ever hospitalized, 28 deaths
  • Hancock County – 117 cases, 90 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 7 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Henderson County – 1,209 cases, 897 recovered, 12 current hospitalizations, 96 ever hospitalized, 28 deaths
  • McLean County – 160 cases, 108 recovered, 3 current hospitalization2, 15 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths
  • Ohio County – 587 cases, 505 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 41 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 482 cases, 411 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 34 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Webster County – 286 cases, 233 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 21 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-100 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 45.4%
  • Female: 54.6%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 16 cases
  • 1-11 — 134 cases
  • 12-19 — 363 cases
  • 20-29 — 804 cases
  • 30-39 — 738 cases
  • 40-49 — 712 cases
  • 50-59 — 651 cases
  • 60-69 — 582 cases
  • 70-79 — 374 cases
  • 80+ — 260 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
