COVID-19 update: 5 deaths, 54 cases, 44 recoveries reported for district

A total of 54 more cases of COVID-19 and 44 recoveries were confirmed Saturday for the Green River District. Coronavirus-related deaths were also reported in Daviess (2), Henderson (2) and McLean (1) counties.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (14), Hancock (2), Henderson (10), McLean (6), Ohio (9), Union (9), Webster (4)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (11), Hancock (1), Henderson (12), McLean (2), Ohio (3), Union (8), Webster (7)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 4,454
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 3,583 (80%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 38
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 330 (7%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 74

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 1,743 cases, 1,511 recovered, 14 current hospitalizations, 125 ever hospitalized, 26 deaths
  • Hancock County – 105 cases, 83 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 7 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Henderson County – 1,167 cases, 823 recovered, 12 current hospitalizations, 91 ever hospitalized, 24 deaths
  • McLean County – 131 cases, 97 recovered, 2 current hospitalization2, 14 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths
  • Ohio County – 572 cases, 477 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 38 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 465 cases, 376 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 34 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Webster County – 271 cases, 216 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 21 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-100 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 45.4%
  • Female: 54.6%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 16 cases
  • 1-11 — 128 cases
  • 12-19 — 349 cases
  • 20-29 — 764 cases
  • 30-39 — 712 cases
  • 40-49 — 685 cases
  • 50-59 — 619 cases
  • 60-69 — 562 cases
  • 70-79 — 359 cases
  • 80+ — 253 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
