COVID-19 update: 8 deaths, 55 cases, 78 recoveries reported for district

A total of 55 more cases of COVID-19 and 78 recoveries were confirmed Tuesday for the Green River District. Coronavirus-related deaths were also reported in Daviess (1), Henderson (6) and McLean Counties (1).

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (16), Hancock (3), Henderson (8), McLean (7), Ohio (13), Union (4), Webster (4)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (29), Hancock (3), Henderson (24), McLean (5), Ohio (4), Union (8), Webster (5)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 4,203
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 3,329 (79%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 32
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 315 (7%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 65

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 1,686 cases, 1,409 recovered, 10 current hospitalizations, 119 ever hospitalized, 24 deaths
  • Hancock County – 97 cases, 77 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 7 ever hospitalized, 1 death
  • Henderson County – 1,080 cases, 758 recovered, 12 current hospitalizations, 87 ever hospitalized, 21 deaths
  • McLean County – 114cases, 89 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 12 ever hospitalized, 2 deaths
  • Ohio County – 549 cases, 456 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 37 ever hospitalized, 9 deaths
  • Union County – 428 cases, 348 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 32 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths
  • Webster County – 249 cases, 192 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 21 ever hospitalized, 3 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-100 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 45.5%
  • Female: 54.5%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 15 cases
  • 1-11 — 120 cases
  • 12-19 — 339 cases
  • 20-29 — 713 cases
  • 30-39 — 668 cases
  • 40-49 — 642 cases
  • 50-59 — 582 cases
  • 60-69 — 530 cases
  • 70-79 — 342 cases
  • 80+ — 247 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
