Tuesday
9th District at OHS
5:30 p.m.: Daviess County v Owensboro
The Daviess County Lady Panthers are 9-3 this season and second in the RPI while host Owensboro comes in at 8-6 after starting the season off on fire.
DC reeled off seven-straight wins this season before going 1-2 in their last three matches ahead of the district tournament. The Lady Panthers won both meetings with the Lady Devils this season as they beat OHS 3-0 on Sept. 22 and 3-1 on Sept. 28.
Owensboro hasn’t played since Oct. 5 as their COVID policy prevented the Lady Devils from taking the court. OHS started the season 5-0 but a tough stretched handed it losses in 5-of-6 matches before winning two of their final three games.
For the Lady Panthers, Elizabeth Moore leads the way with 204 kills while Josie Newcom has added 110 this season. Ryann Keller had 295 assists as Lexi Owen has added 151. DC has a trio of Panthers with at least 100 digs as Kloee Phelps (167), Kendal Goetz (144) and Moore (118) have all played solid defensively for coach Tyla Bailey.
Lainey Hayden is the lone Lady Devil with at least 100 kills as she leads the way with 108 but Krystell Pappas is right behind her with 96. Pappas also leads OHS in assists with 191. Jersie Rhineburger leads the team in digs with 196 while Hayden (171), Pappas (152) and Kennedy Thompson (118) have all chipped in big numbers.
The Lady Devils will try to get revenge on the Panthers Tuesday as Daviess County is looking to get back to the district final for the first time since 2016.
12th District at Butler County
6 p.m.: Trinity v Butler County
The Trinity Lady Raiders are looking to build off of the success of their 3rd Region All “A” Classic title as they take on Butler County in the first round of the 12th District Tournament Tuesday.

Hannah Nash leads the Lady Raiders with 185 kills while Jenna McDowell has 104. Georgia Howard is as close to the century mark as one could get as she has 99 kills for Trinity.
