COVID-19 update: 119 cases, 56 recoveries reported for district

A total of 119 more cases of COVID-19 and 56 recoveries were confirmed Thursday for the Green River District. This is the second-largest number of cases reported for the seven-county region in one day since 140 cases were reported on Oct. 3.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (53), Hancock (5), Henderson (23), McLean (15), Ohio (11), Union (6), Webster (6)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (27), Hancock (2), Henderson (11), McLean (2), Ohio (5), Union (2), Webster (7)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 5,649
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 4,602 (81%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 26
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 392 (7%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 101

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 2,200 cases, 1,839 recovered, 8 current hospitalizations, 147 ever hospitalized, 32 deaths
  • Hancock County – 170 cases, 114 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 9 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths
  • Henderson County – 1,455 cases, 1,149 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 106 ever hospitalized, 36 deaths
  • McLean County – 254 cases, 170 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 20 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Ohio County – 671 cases, 572 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 49 ever hospitalized, 11 deaths
  • Union County – 539 cases, 476 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 35 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Webster County – 360 cases, 282 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 26 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-100 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 44.9%
  • Female: 55.1%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 21 cases
  • 1-11 — 166 cases
  • 12-19 — 446 cases
  • 20-29 — 965 cases
  • 30-39 — 874 cases
  • 40-49 — 865 cases
  • 50-59 — 787 cases
  • 60-69 — 706 cases
  • 70-79 — 477 cases
  • 80+ — 338 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
