COVID-19 update: 2 deaths, 128 cases, 71 recoveries reported for district

A total of 128 more cases of COVID-19 and 71 recoveries were confirmed Thursday for the Green River District, including 49 cases in Daviess County. Coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Daviess (1) and Hancock (1) counties.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (49), Hancock (8), Henderson (24), McLean (4), Ohio (13), Union (12), Webster (18)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (26), Hancock (1), Henderson (13), McLean (11), Ohio (13), Union (2), Webster (5)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 7,149
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 5,623 (79%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 60
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 476 (7%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 126

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 2,811 cases, 2,239 recovered, 21 current hospitalizations, 177 ever hospitalized, 41 deaths
  • Hancock County – 251 cases, 170 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 15 ever hospitalized, 10 deaths
  • Henderson County – 1,783 cases, 1,408 recovered, 17 current hospitalizations, 129 ever hospitalized, 37 deaths
  • McLean County – 338 cases, 240 recovered, 7 current hospitalizations, 26 ever hospitalized, 12 deaths
  • Ohio County – 826 cases, 668 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 60 ever hospitalized, 14 deaths
  • Union County – 655 cases, 541 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 37 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Webster County – 485 cases, 357 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 32 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-100 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 44.8%
  • Female: 55.2%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 23 cases
  • 1-11 — 218 cases
  • 12-19 — 574 cases
  • 20-29 — 1,199 cases
  • 30-39 — 1,104 cases
  • 40-49 — 1,085 cases
  • 50-59 — 1,019 cases
  • 60-69 — 912 cases
  • 70-79 — 579 cases
  • 80+ — 432 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
