COVID-19 update: 3 deaths, 141 cases, 95 recoveries reported for district

A total of 141 more cases of COVID-19 and 95 recoveries were confirmed Saturday for the Green River District, including 45 cases and 42 recoveries in Daviess County. Coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Daviess (1), McLean (1) and Ohio (1) counties.

After the medical records and death certificates were reviewed by Kentucky Department for Public Health, they determined that COVID-19 was not a contributing factor to two previously reported deaths and they have been removed from the totals (one each from Henderson and Webster counties).

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (45), Hancock (7), Henderson (35), McLean (12), Ohio (18), Union (14), Webster (10)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (42), Hancock (11), Henderson (15), McLean (4), Ohio (7), Union (7), Webster (9)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 7,427
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 5,795 (78%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 53
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 480 (7%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 127

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 2,948 cases, 2,321 recovered, 18 current hospitalizations, 179 ever hospitalized, 42 deaths
  • Hancock County – 265 cases, 181 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 16 ever hospitalized, 10 deaths
  • Henderson County – 1,830 cases, 1,438 recovered, 14 current hospitalizations, 129 ever hospitalized, 36 deaths
  • McLean County – 355 cases, 246 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 26 ever hospitalized, 13 deaths
  • Ohio County – 858 cases, 686 recovered, 6 current hospitalizations, 60 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Union County – 674 cases, 555 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 37 ever hospitalized, 6 deaths
  • Webster County – 497 cases, 368 recovered, 5 current hospitalizations, 33 ever hospitalized, 5 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-100 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 44.9%
  • Female: 55.1%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 24 cases
  • 1-11 — 226 cases
  • 12-19 — 606 cases
  • 20-29 — 1,243 cases
  • 30-39 — 1,140 cases
  • 40-49 — 1,128 cases
  • 50-59 — 1,066 cases
  • 60-69 — 935 cases
  • 70-79 — 611 cases
  • 80+ — 442 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
