Daviess County Fiscal Court recently approved a bid for a new fire engine for the Moseleyville Volunteer Fire Department. The $284,000 fire engine is expected to arrive by September 2021.

Fiscal Court received two bids for a new Class A fire engine, approving the lowest bid from High Tech Reserve. The other bid was $296,459.

In turn, the Moseleyville Fire Department offered a 1997 American Pumper fire engine to trade in, helping offset some of the total purchase price of the new engine. The 1997 model is currently housed at the MFD.

“Fiscal Court will put $200,000 toward this purchase with the balance to be paid by the fire department,” said Assistant County Treasurer Jordan Johnson. “This is a budgeted replacement.”
