Another 2,000 Daviess Countians made their way to the polls on the final day of early in-person voting Monday. Combined with the number of mail-in ballots that have been checked in, more than 38,000 votes have been cast so far, representing nearly half of all registered voters in Daviess County.

According to the Daviess County Clerk’s Office, 26,165 people in person early, while 12,154 mail-in ballots have been checked in out of the 13,547 that were mailed out.

The Clerk’s Office reported that there are 78,258 registered voters in Daviess County.

Lines were out the doors at both early in-person locations throughout the day. At the Towne Square Mall voting site, the line stretched around the building from the former Burke’s to the mall’s entrance late in the afternoon.

Despite the long line, most voters at the Towne Square Mall location said they were able to cast their ballots within 30 minutes.

Six voting centers are open from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. today for Election Day. Voters may go to any of the following locations:

  • Towne Square Mall (former Burke’s Outlet)
  • Owensboro Sportscenter
  • Owensboro Christian Church (Entrance D)
  • Yellow Creek Baptist Church Gym
  • The Hines Center in Philpot
  • Bellevue Baptist Church Gym
